Where Do Thomson & First Choice Fit In?
In Britain, the creation of TUI Travel brought together two of the biggest names in travel, Thomson and First Choice. They come under the Mainstream wing and are collectively known as TUI UK & Ireland. Their head office is based in Luton, Bedfordshire. In terms of facts and figures, they serve 7.5 million holidaymakers, have 19,000 staff and tally up 880 travel shops and hypermarkets the length and breadth of the country.
Thomson Airways
The link-up of Thomson and First Choice also brought together the travel giants’ respective airlines - Thomsonfly and First Choice Airways. The result is a brand new airline called Thomson Airways. Its planes fly to destinations round the world from 23 UK airports.

Our Green Credentials
Thomson and First Choice support the World Care Fund. The rules are simple – holidaymakers booking a break can donate a pound to the World Care Fund. And for every pound given, we’ll match it. The money is shared between two independent organisations, ClimateCare and the Travel Foundation. The first helps make up for the impact holidaymakers have on the environment, while the second looks after communities around the world.
